SUMMARY
If you wish to use a remote SQL Server 2005 or a remote or local SQL Server 2008 as the database server for your Prism Channel (in other words, SQL 2005 or SQL 2008 is not installed on the same system as the Prism Server or you wish to use a local SQL 2008), then you first need to install the Microsoft’s SQL Server Backward Compatibility Components to the server where you are installing Prism Suite. If you attempt to install Prism Suite using a remote SQL Server 2005 or 2008 without the Backward Compatibility Components, you will receive the following Alert:

Important Note: If SQL Server 2005 is installed on the same system as the Prism Server, then you will not receive the alert and you do not need to install the Backward Compatibility Components.
METHOD
1. Browse to the Feature Pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d09c1d60-a13c-4479-9b91-9e8b9d835cdc&displaylang=en or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C6C3E9EF-BA29-4A43-8D69-A2BED18FE73C&displaylang=en
2. Find the Backward Compatibility Components section and download the corresponding install package.
3. Launch the install package on the server where you are installing Prism Suite to begin the install process. After accepting the license agreement and entering your registration information you will get to the feature selection dialog.
4. Any of these features can be installed, but the only one that is necessary is SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO).

5. After the Backward Compatibility Components install is finished you can then continue with your Prism Suite installation.
