DISK CONSIDERATIONS

To maximize read and write performance, New Boundary Technologies recommends that SQL Server data files (.mdf) and transitions logs (.ldf) be placed on a separate disk spindles.  Place log files on RAID 1+0 (or RAID 1) disks for better performance and hardware failure.
