We have a package that is not copying the icons correctly to the user's desktop (Window's default icons) and, in this situation, certain .dll's are not being copied either.

I found that the folder these icon's and .dll's are looking for is the C:\Windows\Installer\{bunch of stuff here}\.  This folder is not in the package and I think that it is because the rules.ini file is telling Prism to not look at system folders or files - not sure because I can't see the attributes of this particular folder.

But, this program is huge and it is taking Prism close to 45 minutes to package the software.  I am wondering if there is a manual way of adding this folder and files to the package without repackaging?

You should be able to edit the package, and then drag and drop the folder you want to add in.  Make sure to right click and check out the properties of that folder to make sure that its settings are correct so that it will place the file on the clients machine.

I would try testing this folder drop by itself first to make sure that it works since you are pushing out a large package.

That is just copying the folder itself, not the complete path.

How do I add the path under C: (maybe?) and then copy this folder into that folder?

I try to create a new folder, but it just wants the name of the folder, not the whole path.

When it asks you to type in the name of the folder you want to create, you can type out the path to the folder, so in this case you'd want to copy and paste the full path into that create folder statement, and then you can go ahead and drag and drop in the last folder so that your files get copied over.
