To connect a new Channel Server to an existing SQL database, follow these steps.

1. Open up the database of the channel you want to connect to

2. Open up the table "ChannelSettings"

3. Look for the Column "IsDisconnected" and set its value to 1

4. Save the changes within SQL

5. On your Prism Server, right click the channel manager icon in the system tray and select "Stop Channel Manager"

6. Right click the icon again and select "Connect Channel"

7. From here you should be able to see your channel in a drop down box and walking through the wizard will help you finish connecting it.

In sql 2005 and 2008 you should be able to just modify the IsDisconnected value and have it change and save automatically.  If you have any trouble regarding not being able to save the change I would have your DBA if available make the change for you.

All we are concerned about is making the change of IsDisconnected = 1 and having that stick.
