| Hi,
I'm upgrading the OS of my Prism Server machine from Windows 2000 Server to Windows 2003 R2 SP2.
Prism is running using MSDE as DataBase standard created by the install, using the information from the Knowledge Base i did a backup with osql.
Did a fresh install of Server 2003 and manage to restore the Database backup but now i can't connect to the prism channel using the Prism Deploy Console it says can't find any channel on my server (localhost).
Tried several times using the sample channel or without creating one, the sample channel works but after restoring DB backup i no longer cam connect to the channel.
It seems i need to do something to restore also the old channel information, how can i do this?

| | This should be a simple fix. You will need to go into the Prism Database and search for a table called “ChannelSettings” One of the columns in this table is called “IsDisconnected” and you need to set this to a value of 1 There should be a button on the bottom of the SQL database that looks like a “play” button, press that to save those changes into the table. Next you will want to stop the prism channel manager by right clicking the icon in the system tray. Then right click the same icon and select “Connect Channel” This should allow you to see the prism database that you couldn’t see before.

| Hi,
Tanks for the tips. After changing the value IsDisconnected on the table i could attach to the channel using the Channel Manager but on the Prism Console i have the same problem it couldn't find any channel to connect on the local server.
Any mode ideas?

| Yes, when launching the console you should see a blank window where you'd normally pick the channel you want to open. Locate the "Find" button and click it, then type in the name of your Prism Server. Once you've done that click OK and it should show you a list of channels you can manage on your Prism Server, of which the one you "connected" before should be visible.

Yes i know, the problem is when using Find it says "no channels found on server"

| | Follow these steps, which should resolve your issue: 1. Go back into the database, and reset IsDisconnected to a value of 1 2. Make sure the table has been modified and the value saved 3. Right click the channel manager icon in your system tray, and select Connect Channel 4. Add in the channel you are looking to connect to 5. Open up Regedit and browse down to HKLM\Software\Lanovation\Prism Deploy\Server Channels 6. You should have 2 GUIDS under Server Channels, One should be the Channel Creation Database, and the other should be the Channel you just connected. Verify that the channel you just connected has a Registry value named "Channel Status" that has a value of 3 7. If it does not have a 3 for its value, run a repair on your server. 8. At this point, i would reboot your machine, and when it comes up, verify that the Channel Manager icon in your system tray is green, and that the Registry value is still at 3

| Hi,
Sorry for not updating this topic sooner, the problem is resolved.
After doing the change on the Database and all the other steps you mention, the Prism Console couldn't find any channels on the server and by guess i decide to do a repair install using Add/Remove, that did the trick and fixed the problem like you said on your last post.
Now i have the channel back with all the groups and tasks.
