I get the error message "Unable to connect to the install service on the targeted machine" in the deployment status, and a bunch of red clocks next to the patches I have attempted to install.  Any tips?

Here are some things to check:

  • is there adequate free disk space on the Target?

  • does the SYSTEM account on the target have full permissions to %systemroot% (e.g., C:\Windws)

If the above items don't appear to be the problem:

  • Stop/Start the UEAgent service on the Master Agent machine, or

  • Reboot the Master Agent machine

None of the above seem to be the problem.  Most of my installs are stuck as "pending" while some say "scheduled" even after the time due is past.

As an unrelated issue, what will Prism do if the computer is off and an install is scheduled?

Actually the installing has fixed THAT problem.  These other problems also prevent deploying patches, but might be unrelated,  I will start a new thread.
