Hi,
I've created packages for the Adobe CS3 Suite without any issue. The packages are deployed with no problem to the client, yet when they go to execute the program an error pops up saying there was a catastrophic failure wit the AMS licensing service. I entered the serial number while creating the package, so I'm not sure what the issue may be. Has anyone else had this kind of problem with Adobe packages? Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dennis

We haven't heard of this issue, but you might want to check out the information in the following posts:

Adobe's more stringent licensing and registration procedures have made it difficult to repackage their apps. In fact, it's possible you may have to purchase a special "redistributable" version of their software in order to get this to work at all. Adobe's support site might have some information about that. Good luck, and please post your findings!

I packaged CS3 Design Premium using Prism Deploy 7.1, it deploys and runs fine BUT ONLY on a clean system.I can deploy office and other products afterwards ok but if I do it the other way around I get your error [catastrophic error with AMS licensing service].

I cannot even remove it and redeploy it to the same machine without that error. So bacially I use BDD 2007 to wipe the system and then deploy CS3 afterwards on a virgin install.

Really annoying to have to go through that procedure but I have yet to find a way around it.

We recently ordered this version of CS3 for one of our employees. We'll do some package testing to see if we can figure out what's happening. Any new information will be posted here!

There may be some helpful general information here about Adobe's licensing:

Another article from Adobe (8 pages!) about doing an enterprise deployment of Adobe CS3 Edition and Components:

I have had similar issues installing on a slightly different operating system, I did find that running an Adobe repair of the common components from Add/remove Programs on the client reset the AMS Licensing without any intervention though this does take time to complete
