Is there a way to search for a specific wireless card within your clients?

Thanks

Yes, there are a couple of options:

1) Prism Suite 7 contains an Asset Management component that will scan and report on installed hardware, including wireless NICs. After scanning your machines, you would look at the Installed Hardware Summary report. The report can be filtered to just see the network cards having a certain description. You can download the latest release of Prism  Suite from here: http://www.newboundary.com/products/prismsuite/download.htm

2) You could try creating a configuration group using this ruleset: EXISTS <Registry Value> "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\Descriptions\\Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection"  The text in red obviously needs to be changed to the exact description of the card you're interested in.

We'd be interested to know which option you choose. Please let us know if you have any questions about either.
