We mistakenly installed the client on a machine that should not have been installed. I manually ran the client uninstall from the command line, but the machine still shows up in the Prism Console Network list as being licensed, and the only right click choice is to reinstall the client. How do we remove the licensing from this machine??

Thanks

Go to the Managed tab (not the Network tab) and right-click on the computer. Choose "Delete Computer from Channel." That will free up a license.

Thanks.. I can't believe I missed that!! We're just getting our 200 seat production Prism system up, and what with all the normal day-to-day stuff going on, I completely missed that...

Thanks again!

I have a problem with deleting computer in the channel...

I have many of computer that is shutdown for long time (laptop for example), if I delete the computer in the channel... when the client computer is alive agin, it's impossible to subscribe in the channel without deleting registry key on the client machine... It's a big problem in our institution....

Do you have a solution to manage licence ?

When a computer is deleted from a channel via the Console, the next time that that computer polls, the Client will remove its subscription information from the registry. This will prevent the computer from polling that channel again.

If the machine is offline when it is deleted from the channel, as soon as it is brought back online, the Client will poll and notice that it has been deleted from the channel. The normal behavior will occur, with the registry information being removed and the Client no longer polling the channel.

A Client installation, either via Direct Install or Subscription File should succeed whether or not the computer is already subscribed to the channel. What are you experiencing when the Client install fails?
