| On a newly built machine when I do a "Install Required", why do I have to put in credentials 3 times before it begins? Shouldn't the Agent user options submit the credentials I entered in the global defaults?
Is there a way to eliminate me having to type these credentials in?

| Hello, Being asked for credentials could be caused by a few different reasons (different domain, expired password, credentials not saved, etc). If you want to or have to set different credentials for a machine(s), you can right click on the machine(s) and say "Set Alternate Credentials". Once you fill in the appropriate information, be sure to check the box that says "Save credentials". This machine(s) will then use those credentials until that username/password expires or is no longer valid. Thank You! New Boundary Support

| I tried as you said and it still doesn't work. The box is a member of a domain. I tried both entering domain admin credentials on the Agent Global settings window and on the computer as alternate credentials. When I perform an "Installed Required" on a clean Windows 2000 SP4 workstation, it requires me to enter credentials 3 more times. For example is wants credentials for the "IE60 Service Pack 1" package. I've also tried this on a leaf and non-leaf system. My goal is to have other IT admins perform builds of PCs but this may get too bothersome for each PC they do.

| Hello, That sounds like a patch needed "administrative credentials" to be installed. Some patches will require you to enter a set of credentials because of a reboot, or a service stop & start, etc. It would work the same for "Office" patches as well. The patch installation willl ask you for your Office Network Share and the credentials to access and install those files. The thing to remember is... there are different credentials used for finding and querying a machine versuses installing and pointing to various network locations. Take a look at this tech-note: http://www.nbtnet.newboundary.com/support/docs/ppm/ppm/installation_leafs/ppm0010.htm Thanks! New Boundary Support
