Is there a way to run an "Install Required" from the command line or have Prism Deploy force a new computer to install all patches?

Hello,

Prism Patch Manager does not allow patches to be installed by command line for 2 reasons.  1) PPM is a "push" technology.  The patches are not accessible on the target machine until the patches have been deployed or "pushed" to the machine.  2) For secuirty reasons, PPM does not store the patches in their EXE format.  When a patch is downloaded it is fully encryted and renamed.  Only PPM can run that patch unless an administrator renames that patch back to its EXE state.  Once the patch has been pushed to the target machine, it is then converted back to it's EXE name.  If you want to see the patches on the target machine after you push them, you can see them in the C:\Windows\PM_Installs folder.  Once installed, they are deleted.

For new computers, it is necesary to first query a machine before you can patch it.  PPM must know its OS and SP level so it can determine which patches are possible on this machine.  This prevents any incorrect patches from being installed.  Once the machine has been queried, you can use the required option to automatically install all the patches you want.

Thanks!
